As the Banksia has such a unique botanical morphology, I took a maximalist approach to emphasise its striking features. Initial observations of the drawing inspire deeper examination which allows for the discovery of the layers of complexity of the subject matter, Banksia. The delicate rendering invites close inspection, revealing ornate layered details of the Banksia’s serrated clustered leaves, flowers, and fruit.
