During the 5 week term workshops you will enjoy a relaxed atmosphere learning the basics of drawing and rendering skills to create your own botanical illustration. Over the term you will have time to learn and develop your skills before applying them to create a finished botanical drawing to take home.

The class is suitable for beginners to intermediate and will cover the following areas:
Materials to use including artist quality pencils, pens and paper.
Rendering techniques using graphite pencil, coloured pencil, fine liner pen and charcoal.
Art theory including the Elements of Art shape, line, tone and texture.
The application of a light source to help you create three dimensional effects.
Paula Zetlein is a professional exhibiting artist who was recently a finalist in the 2018 Heysen Landscape Art Prize at Hahndorf Academy in South Australia. Her formal qualifications include Bachelor of Visual Arts Degree majoring in drawing and painting as well as a Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary). Paula has worked as an arts educator for the past 12 years in secondary schools in both Victoria and South Australia.
Includes equipment to be used during the workshop such as drawing materials, specialist paper as well as a Paula Zetlein blank note book to sketch in.
